Amanda has been playing with words and grammar since she was a child. She has been writing résumés professionally since 1996, during which time she has also been involved in copyediting, proofreading, creating marketing materials and Web sites, and the hiring process (see Amanda's résumé). She is an advocate of customer relationship building and enjoys empowering and educating her clients, whether it is to explain what a résumé objective is or the difference between "whom" and "who."

In 2006, Amanda renamed her previous business and created her alter ego, The Grammar Doctor. At networking and professional events, The Grammar Doctor always wears either a scrub top or lab coat with a stethoscope.

Amanda stays current with résumé trends through membership in the Résumé Writers' Council of Arizona and Network Employment and Training Professionals Association, as well as affiliations with national recruiters and career placement agencies. She is currently pursuing credential as a Nationally Certified Résumé Writer through the NRWA, a stringent process for the top echelon of designers. Amanda also has training as a career counselor.
